Shapes Catalog

This section brings together all the known tea ware shapes of the Wileman and Shelley potteries. Select a shape from the pull-down menu on the right to view a description and images of different variations (cup, saucer, etc.) if they are available.

Unless otherwise stated the shapes were used for Best ware, any other uses are included in the description of the shape.

Variations to shapes and changes of handles are listed under the original shape name, making for easier comparison. An example of the coffee shape is only included if it is substantially different to the tea shape.

Unfortunately, it has not been possible to find examples of some shapes. The scarcity of some shapes means that the pictures are not the highest quality. It was thought better to include a poor quality picture than not to include an example.

The contents of this section reflect the information available at the time of publication, however, as any Wileman/Shelley collector knows, new information is coming to light all the time. If you can add to the contents please contact us.
